Directions & Hours

Directions

AAF&G is located at 1730 Saint Margarets Road, Annapolis MD, approximately three (3) miles west of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Please see the interactive map at the bottom of this page.

From U.S. Route 50:

  • Exit onto Bay Dale Drive and stay left on the ramp.
  • Turn left onto Ferguson Road and then right onto Old Mill Bottom Road.
  • Turn right onto Saint Margarets Road (MD-179) and travel approximately 0.6 miles. AAF&G will be on your right.
  • Look for our sign (the image in the page banner above). It can be easy to miss the driveway, especially when the trees are green! If you cross Mill Creek, you have gone too far.

For the latest real-time travel information, visit Maryland DoT CHART.

Please note that you will need your gate access card, unless the gate is open for a public event.

Shooting Hours

Shooting hours at AAF&G are divided into “Rimfire” hours (shooting .22LR, .22 Long, and .22 Short rimfire cartridges only) and “Centerfire” hours (all allowed cartridges—please forgive the poor terminology, but it is what we are required to use).

Rimfire Hours

“Rimfire” shooting hours (.22LR, .22 Long, and .22 Short only) are 9am until sunset (as shown on the AAF&G Home Page), no later than 8pm, every day.

Centerfire Hours

“Centerfire” shooting hours are 10am–4pm on Monday to Friday, except for Federal or Maryland State holidays; allowed “centerfire” hours are 10am–1pm on Saturdays and holidays. Holidays are noted on the Club calendar, so that members are aware of weekday shooting hour restrictions. No “centerfire” shooting is permitted on Sundays, except for Sanctioned Weekends (see below).

Holidays

A list of Maryland State holidays for the year (which also includes all Federal holidays) can be found on the website of the Maryland Department of Budget and Management.

Sanctioned Weekends

Each year, AAF&G declares six “Sanctioned Weekends”, which are published on the Club calendar and announced in the SCORE newsletter. On those weekends, “centerfire” shooting is permitted on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until sunset (as shown on the AAF&G Home Page), no later than 8pm.
