AAF&G Range Safety Officers (RSOs) represent the Officers and Directors of AAF&G on Club Property in enforcing the Range Use and Safety Rules. Their decisions and directions must be followed. Willful violation of AAF&G rules and policies, or failure to comply with a Range Safety Officer, will result in a review by the Board of Directors, which may lead to the loss of membership and/or visitation privileges.
Per the Bylaws, the Board of Directors sets the criteria for becoming an AAF&G RSO. These are:
- Be a Member in good standing for at least one (1) year.
- Be certified as an NRA Range Safety Officer.
- Be recommended by the Chair of any one of the range committees.
- Perform a new Member orientation walk-through.
- Be interviewed and approved by the AAF&G Chief Range Safety Officer.
Once appointed, a Club RSO maintains that status while a Member in good standing until it is voluntarily relinquished.
